Depending on the severity of the varicose veins (and other factors), Dr. Golan determines the specific treatment for each patient. In some cases, Dr. Golan may advise “conservative management” which consists of wearing compression stockings, elevating the legs and taking oral anti-inflammatory medication.  This therapy may reduce the symptom(s) of varicose veins, but it will not eliminate the underlying cause.

Note that most insurance companies do cover the treatment of varicose veins, but some may require a period of “conservative management,” initially. To find out more information about varicose veins and their treatment, please visit VascularWeb.org.
